Murati was born in 1988 in Vlorë, Albania, to Albanian parents. At the age of 16, she left Albania to attend and graduate from Pearson College UWC, located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, and is one of the schools and colleges around the world in the United World Colleges movement.
Later, she graduated from Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering.
